Chopin Among Scholarly Artists
When we talk about Fryderyk Chopin, our thoughts usually turn to Żelazowa Wola and the Church of the Holy Cross in Warsaw, where his heart rests.
We invite you to watch a film about the piano genius's years within the walls of the University of Warsaw, as a student at the Warsaw Lyceum and later a university student, his colleagues and professors, but also his home, lecture halls, and the university Botanical Garden. Through period recollections and letters, as well as digital technologies, this film depicts the university buildings as they appeared in the composer's time. As has been rightly noted, "all of Chopin was created in his youth [...] the rest of his life was his genius's pursuit of perfection." This youthful period of the pianist was spent among the students, artists, and professors of the University of Warsaw.
