Summer in Nohant

THE BIRTHPLACE OF FRYDERYK CHOPIN AND PARK IN ŻELAZOWA WOLA
Żelazowa Wola 15, 96-503 Sochaczew
Summer in Nohant
A three-act drama by Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, which premiered on December 4, 1936, at the Mały Theatre in Warsaw. It tells the story of Fryderyk Chopin's stay at the estate of the writer George Sand in Nohant-Vic, France, in the 1840s. During the hot summer, her manor house is filled with guests. Her children, friends, and Fryderyk Chopin are staying at the summer resort. The relationship between them is tangled, full of long-held resentments, but also deeply hidden passions. The central figure in the story is George Sand. In her shadow, under her protective supervision and watchful, caring eye, Chopin's talent blossoms. The play is an exceptionally insightful and engaging study of love.
