Sam Kowalski (guitar and vocals) – a solo project by Mateusz Kowalski, known for his work in numerous bands that have contributed to the Polish traditional and folk music scene (Radical Polish Ansambl, Tęgie Chłopy, Strug Kompania, Monodia Polska, Warszawska Orkiestra Sentymentalna, Nicponie), which was recognized with the Special Prize of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in the New Tradition 2024 competition. The concert program will feature oberek melodies from the Przysucha region, based on years of fieldwork and oral history. These melodies, usually sung and played on the violin, will be accompanied by a miniature classical guitar. The concert will be accompanied by a screening of a film recorded on VHS tape during a tour of the Przysucha region on Corpus Christi Day 2024.
