THE BIRTHPLACE OF FRYDERYK CHOPIN AND PARK IN ŻELAZOWA WOLA
Żelazowa Wola 15, 96-503 Sochaczew
THE LECTURE WILL BE CONDUCTED IN POLISH
Parnassus is a mountain range in central Greece. The ancients "housed" Apollo, the patron saint of the arts, philosophy, and science, there, providing him with a nine-member retinue of Muses, patrons of specific fields. Today, "conquering Parnassus" means reaching artistic heights. Sometimes, the gates to realms once accessible only to deities open to the face of a mortal creator. Innate predispositions, talent, and diligence lead to them. The journey is facilitated by the company of a personal muse, often also the silent "co-author" of a born, immortal work of art. Fryderyk Chopin's retinue was not very large. He experienced this kind of support three times, when an opera singer, a painter, and a novelist appeared on his artistic path. Let's meet the muses of this genius.
Date: June 17, 12:00 PM
Topic: "Genius on Parnassus, or Chopin among the Muses"
